PR Tool:
Testimonials
by
Frank Williams, President
While anyone can toot their own
horn, it is infinitely more credible when someone else is
willing to unabashedly sing your praises.
Testimonials can be a
powerful tool to reinforce your message and strengthen your
credibility. To that end, I strongly encourage you to
secure testimonials from satisfied clients, business partners
and other credible, relevant third parties with whom your
organization interacts.
Testimonials can build your
credibility in a number of ways, including:
- Describing a positive
customer service experience;
- Outlining the value derived
from a specific product or service;
- Communicating the benefit
your organization provides to clients;
- Detailing a time when a
member of your organization went the extra mile to solve a
client's problem;
- Communicating your
organization's ability to serve a specific vertical or niche
market; and
- Demonstrating that real
people are willing to vouch for your organization.
Testimonials can deliver a powerful
message. If you can secure testimonials from well-known
individuals who already have credibility among your key target
publics, the effect is multiplied. A powerful testimonial
delivered by a credible, trustworthy messenger can significantly
strengthen your organization's credibility among those groups
with the greatest potential to impact your success.
